Our Premium Fat Stripping Protein!

When your goal is to build a lean, ripped and muscular body - Shred System is your go-to protein. Shred System is very different from most other “lean” proteins that are just low in fat and carbs. Shred System has a unique protein and amino acid blend to support lean muscle gain while you burn maximum fat. But the real secret of Shred System is our powerful Thermogenic Complex - a potent combination of carb blocking and fat burning nutrients to inhibit fat storage, stimulate your metabolism and incinerate stubborn fat deposits.

The Shred System formula has been developed to be effective for beginner, intermediate and advanced level trainers and contains the following system of nutrients to help you build a lean, ripped, and muscular body:

  • MAX'S Lean Protein Blend - is formulated for fast, medium and slow release to help maximise your anabolic potential. It includes Hydrolysed Whey Peptides, Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Casein and Milk Protein Isolate
  • MAX'S Thermogenic Fat Burning Complex - This combination of nutrients is designed to stimulate your body's metabolism and natural fat burning. It includes: Conjugated Linoleic Acid, Green Tee Extract, Raspberry Ketones, African Mango Seed Extract, Guarana, Caffeine and Acetyl L-Carnitine
  • MAX'S Carb Blocking Complex - Carbohydrates, particularly sugars, can promote fat storage. This powerful carb blocking complex helps inhibit conversion of carbs to fat. It includes: Garcinia Cambogia, Phaseolamin and Green Coffee Extract
  • MAX'S Nitrogen Retention Complex - Nitrogen balance is a measure of protein synthesis and muscle growth. This complex supports positive nitrogen balance and includes the Branched Chain Amino Acids (Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine), L-Glutamine and L-Taurine
  • MAX'S Vitamin & Mineral Complex - This blend contains a full complement of vitamins and minerals to support fat burning and muscle growth.

Get Ripped with MAX’S Shred System and a Low Carb Diet

If you’re relatively new to weight training, then you may never have tried to seriously diet before to get lean and ripped. Unless you are lucky and have great genetics, the reality is that getting in great shape with good muscle definition and a six pack isn’t easy.

There are lots of different diet fads you can try, but the diet that has stood the test of time, and has the best scientific support is a Low Carb Diet.

This approach basically relies on high protein, moderate fat, and quite low carbohydrates – a regime that seems to contradict many nutritionist’s ideal balanced diet. However you can eat much more variety – and much more food than the traditional low fat approach. This type of diet, popularised by Dr Robert Atkins in the 1970’s, and now often referred to as a keto style diet is based on the premise that eating low carb forces your body to become much better and burning fat for fuel, which helps reduce your stored body fat.

Some Important Information about Sugar

Sugar is an Anti-nutrient! It contains no vitamins. No minerals. No protein. Nothing of any nutritional value. It is 100% carbohydrate. High levels of sugar in your blood are bad. When you consume sugar your body is thrown into chaos. It works to quickly clear sugar into storage and restore normal blood sugar levels. Sugar in almost all forms (sucrose, glucose, and fructose) makes you fat. Some sugar can be stored away in muscles for energy, but most is converted into fat and stored in fat cells around your body. Highly processed carbs like white flour is its second cousin—almost as bad. When you partner the two together— flour and sugar—it spells disaster for anyone trying to maintain a healthy body, let alone build muscle and lose fat. If they are consumed on a regular basis, the body is in a constant state fat gain and nutritional deficiency.

How to Eat on a Low Carb Diet

Here are some basic guidelines about what to eat and what to avoid:

  • Use a diet tracking app (like My Fitness Pal) to record your food intake and monitor carb, fat and protein levels

  • Aim to eat no more than 50 - 100 grams of Carbohydrates Daily

  • You should eat up to 4 - 6 cups of salad vegetables or 4 - 6 cups of non starchy cooked vegetables each day

  • You should eat whenever you are hungry until you basically feel satisfied (don’t pig out though!)

  • This diet consists of quality protein foods, pure fats (butter, olive oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, mayonnaise etc...) and any combinations of proteins & fats.

  • You can eat a reasonable amount of fat – up to 40% of your calories, what you must limit are CARBOHYDRATES.

  • You may drink water, coffee (decaf), tea, diet drinks (occasionally). Any Drink with 0 carbs is allowed. NOTE: On a high protein diet it is advisable to drink 3 – 4 litres of water a day.

  • Train normally, you should still have plenty of energy after your body gets accustomed to this diet which may take 3 - 5 days

What can you eat?

The following foods have virtually no carbohydrates and so can be eaten freely:

  • Chicken

  • Nuts & Seeds (of any kind)

Meal Frequency

Conventional bodybuilding experience recommends spreading your food intake across 6 smaller meals each day. This means you need to determine your daily protein, fat and carbs requirements and put together a daily plan that spreads your intake of these nutrients.

Some newer diet approaches have recently emerged that seem to offer promise in helping trainers shed body weight. One approach we like is known as Time Restricted Eating (also known as intermittent fasting). This approach limits your daily food intake to roughly 8 hours per day. The other 16 hours are spent fasting. You still eat the same amount of food, you just compress the time during your day when you eat. This approach has been shown to accelerate fat loss and also improve many other health and fitness markers.

How Long Should I Stay on a Low Carb Diet?

Many trainers follow this type of diet until they get down to their target weight or body fat goal and then ease up a little. Some trainers eat this way all year round and sneak in the occasional treat. The best advice we can give is to do what you are comfortable with. If you are comfortable on this diet and are getting good results there is no reason to change as it is a very healthy way to eat. However if you really miss your carbs then we recommend adding some good quality carbs (like oats, sweet potato and rice) back into your diet once you achieve your goal weight. Try to keep your carb intake to around 150 - 250 grams per day. If you find your body fat levels creeping up simply tighten your diet up for a week or so by dropping carbs back down to the 50 - 100 gram level.

Shred System

MAX'S Shred System combines fast and medium acting Whey Proteins with slower acting Caseins to keep you recovering and growing for longer. But there’s another benefit for trainers wanting to get ripped. Casein Proteins form a gel in your stomach during digestion, which is why it is much slower to digest. The benefit to you is - it keeps you feeling fuller for longer, which is ideal when you are watching your calorie intake!

This is the science behind our MAX’S Lean Protein Blend. You get a specific combination of fast, medium and slow dairy proteins to keep you growing longer plus the slower digesting Caseins keep you feeling satisfied to make calorie restriction easier:

  • Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides – Immediate: Pre-digested Whey Peptides provide amino acids for rapid absorption and assimilation

  • Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) – Fast: WPI is natures best protein for building lean muscle

  • Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) – Medium: WPC is an excellent muscle builder with many health-promoting benefits

  • Casein – Slow: Casein gels in your stomach during digestion which means it is absorbed slower

  • Milk Protein Isolate - Ultra Slow. MPI has a high proportion of Micellar Casein, a very slow digesting and absorbing protein to maximise long term gains

Thermogenic literally means to “produce heat”. Thermogenic nutrients increase your resting metabolism by burning fat to produce heat and increase energy. By stimulating your body to burn more fat all day you will get progressively leaner and more muscular. MAX'S Shred System combines powerful Thermogenic compounds for 24-hour fat incineration:

  • Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – is a unique type of fatty acid to exhibits a wide range of beneficial metabolic and health effects. Studies confirm CLA has a strong positive effect on body composition with prolonged use by increasing uptake of nutrients (fats, carbs and protein) into muscle cells that leads to enhanced protein synthesis, higher metabolic rates and reduced fat storage.

  • Green Tea Extract – contains powerful antioxidants called catechin polyphenols that are responsible for many health benefits. One catechin in particular, Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), stimulates your metabolism to burn fat and accelerate weight loss. EGCG stimulates the central nervous system and causes fat to be released into the blood stream for the body to use as fuel.

  • Raspberry Ketones – are organic compounds that give raspberries their colour and flavour. They stimulate fat cells to mobilize stored fat which can then be burned for fuel to get you leaner with more energy

  • African Mango Seed Extract - increases specific blood levels of the fat metabolism regulators leptin and adiponectin that increase your fat burning metabolism.

  • Guarana - comes from the seeds of a South American shrub Paullinia Cupana. The primary active compounds in guarana are the alkaloids theobromine. These compounds combine to stimulate the central nervous system, increasing your metabolic rate and thermogenesis.

  • Caffeine – research shows that caffeine helps trainers burn up to twice as many fat calories in the hours after finishing exercise. Caffeine will also improve performance during both short term high-intensity exercise such as weight training and also helps increase output during endurance exercise.

  • Acetyl L-Carnitine – is a naturally occurring amino acid that helps shunt free fatty acids from your bloodstream into muscle cell mitochondria giving the double benefit of providing more fuel for greater energy plus increased fat burning for greater fat loss.

Trainers looking to achieve that sought after lean and shredded look know that it's not just about fat intake, but also about manipulating dietary carbohydrates. MAX'S Shred System supports a reduced carbohydrate intake nutrition plan, not only because it's naturally low in carbs, but because it also includes powerful carb blockers to inhibit the digestion and conversion of carbs to stored fats:

  • Garcinia Cambogia – is a tropical fruit that contains a potent carbohydrate regulating compound – Hydroxy Citric Acid or HCA. It’s main action is to block the enzyme Citrate Lyase which your body uses to push excess carbohydrates into fat storage.

  • Phaseolamin - is an extract of white kidney beans that inhibits the action of the starch-digesting enzyme Alpha-amylase in your digestive tract - effectively blocking the digestion and absorption of many types of carbohydrates .

  • Green Coffee Extract - contains the active ingredient Chlorogenic Acid that inhibits absorption of sugars and starches in your small intestine.

Shred System is high in specific Amino Acids that help regulate muscle protein synthesis and muscle recovery.:

  • Branched Chain Amino Acids - (Leucine, Isoleucine and valine) stimulate the mTOR signalling pathway that controls protein synthesis in skeletal muscle, literally turning on muscle growth..

  • L-Glutamine - is a strong anti catabolic amino acid that helps regulate the breakdown of muscle tissue after hard training. The more glutamine you have in your system, the sooner your body can initiate repair and rebuilding of muscle tissue.

  • L-Taurine - is a strong antioxidant amino acid that helps protect muscle against damage from weight training allowing for faster recovery

MAX’S Shred System includes a full complement of vitamins and mineral required to optimise your muscle building and fat burning metabolism. It contains:

Minerals (Potassium Citrate, Tri Calcium Phosphate, Magnesium Oxide, Ferrous Fumarate, Zinc Sulphate, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Selenite, Chromium Chloride).
